What makes a great yoga blog?

Yoga has exploded across the internet — which is both a blessing and a curse. There are thousands of voices out there, each claiming to guide you toward a deeper practice. But the signal-to-noise ratio is rough. We wanted to find the blogs that are actually worth bookmarking.

Good, substantive content. A great yoga blog doesn't just tell you to "breathe and let go." It offers real technique breakdowns, honest reflections on the hard parts of practice, and genuine encouragement — without sounding like it was written by a brand trying to sell you something.

Trustworthiness. Is the author someone who has actually done the work? Do they cite experienced teachers? Do they acknowledge that yoga is a lifelong, humbling journey rather than a destination?

Consistent posting. A blog that hasn't been updated since 2022 is a library, not a living resource. We prioritized blogs that are active, growing, and in dialogue with their readers.

Anjali Mudra — more than just a greeting, it's a full-body centering practice.

"Yoga is not about touching your toes — it's about what you learn on the way down."

There are other criteria, but we kept it to these three. In no particular order, here are our top five yoga blogs of 2026.

Our top picks
1.

The Asana Diaries

Run by a former professional dancer turned Ashtanga instructor, The Asana Diaries is a masterclass in honest writing. Each post walks through a specific pose — its anatomy, its common mistakes, and the author's own messy, years-long journey to get it right. If you've ever felt alone in struggling with a posture, this blog will fix that immediately. Posts are weekly and reliably excellent.

2.

Slow Flow Journal

This is the blog for people who feel like yoga culture has gotten too fast, too aesthetic, too performative. Slow Flow Journal is a quiet corner of the internet where the writing is warm, the approach is yin-leaning, and the author — a physiotherapist who came to yoga through recovery from injury — writes with a calm authority that is genuinely rare. One of our favorites.

3.

Mind & Mat

More of a wellness magazine than a traditional blog, Mind & Mat covers yoga, breathwork, Ayurveda, and the occasional deep dive into the neuroscience of mindfulness. It's broad — which is both its strength and weakness. The yoga-specific content is excellent; the lifestyle content varies in quality. Still, for sheer volume of good, well-researched material, it's hard to beat.

4.

Root & Rise

Root & Rise is the blog equivalent of a really good yoga teacher: warm, specific, and never preachy. The author writes openly about her own practice — what's working, what isn't, which teachers she's learning from — and that honesty is infectious. She also does an exceptional series on yoga for anxiety and nervous system regulation that is worth reading in full, regardless of your experience level.

Latest Health News (this blog)

We'd be dishonest if we left ourselves off entirely. Our blog features writers who are passionate about yoga, wellness, and the quieter edges of practice — breathwork, philosophy, the Yoga Sutras, the kind of stuff that doesn't fit neatly into a trending hashtag. We try to write articles that take the subject seriously without taking themselves too seriously. We're not perfect, but we keep showing up.
